CCP is looking for a Technical Artist to join our team in London and help build worlds and tools for our newly announced online tactical sci-fi shooter set in the New Eden universe.

The successful candidate will join the Tech art team. You will be hands on with gathering the requirements needed to support our Art and Environment Team, coming up with plans, creating pipelines and implementing solutions. Your main goal is to provide the team with the support they need to create beautiful, interesting and optimized worlds.

Position summary

As a technical artist you will work closely with Art, Design, VFX, Lighting and Rendering, and play a pivotal role in bridging the gaps across these disciplines. You will do this by assisting the Tech art team in developing tools and solutions that are user friendly, optimized and performant.

Your responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with artists, designers and engineers to develop tools and workflows that enchance our pipeline and elevate the visual quality of our game.

- Work with Tech art, rendering and engineering to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks

- Provide technical support to artists and designers, assisting them in troubleshooting and problem solving related to tool integration and rendering.

- Create and maintain shaders and materials for art and VFX

What you bring

- 3+ years of experience working either as a technical artist or a tools programmer in a professional setting (shipped titles not a must)

- Demonstratable skills using Blueprints

- Demonstratable skills using the UE material graph editor

- Demonstratable skills using C++. Experience with C++ withing UE a plus

- Experience with Python

- Experience with at least one DCC package (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Houdini)

- Excellent communication and documentation skills

- Experience with HLSL/GLSL a plus

- Experience working with Niagara a plus

- Experience working with Landmass/Landscapes a plus
