Cultivarium is a Focused Research Organization (FRO) with a mission to accelerate the adoption of novel microorganisms for biotechnology. We are a close-knit, driven team of scientists and engineers that are building technological infrastructure for the cultivation of non-model microorganisms to open new avenues for science, technology, medicine and agriculture.We are looking for an Innovation Fellow to develop research-based hypotheses to guide applications of our technologies, translational opportunities and resource allocation in new fields. You will discover, organize, and synthesize explorations with external entities in close collaboration with senior staff. This work will steer Cultivarium’s continued growth and directly catalyze our aim to get science out into the real-world.This is a paid position for Summer 2023 (June-Aug). On-site is preferred and hybrid or remote is negotiable based on candidate skillset and teamwork dynamics. Qualifications

• Academic or professional background in a discipline related to microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology. Strong interest in technology development
• Eager to learn—new topics, methods/approaches and tools through self-learning, observation, resources, discussion with colleagues. Commitment to learn about the science behind our platform technologies
• Self-starter capable driving initiatives through collaboration in a dynamic environment with ambiguity
• Team player motivated to succeed through incorporation of a variety of viewpoints
• Entrepreneurial drive and passion for synthetic biology and biotechnology innovation
• Strong oral and written communication skills—reports and summaries; creating presentations
