| Position Description | We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Oyler-Yaniv lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston Massachusetts. The work of the Oyler-Yaniv lab is focused on the overarching question of how cytokines contribute to the self-organization of immune cell niches. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates who are interested in these or related fields, particularly those who may bring a new technology or perspective to bear on the work in the lab. Specifically, candidates should have experience working with mouse models of immune activation, autoimmunity, or infection; isolation and in vitro culture of mouse and/or human immune cells, and either flow cytometry or microscopy, or both. The ideal candidate values patience, curiosity, and hypothesis-driven science, and is eager to learn new model systems and/or techniques. High standards for data quality, record-keeping, and rigor are required. The successful candidate will work with Drs. Jennifer and Alon Oyler-Yaniv to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab’s research focus. In addition to carrying out research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, develop and maintain experimental protocols, uphold our shared lab values, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and a positive, collaborative environment.
