| Position Description | A postdoctoral position is available in the Whipple Laboratory at Harvard University to study epigenetic regulation in the mammalian brain. Our research focuses on genomic imprinting—an epigenetic phenomenon in which genes are expressed in a parent-of- origin–specific manner—and its critical roles in brain development, growth, behavior, and learning. The significance of imprinted genes is underscored by the diverse neural and behavioral phenotypes associated with their dysregulation. The successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms that establish and maintain genomic imprinting and define the functions of imprinted non-coding RNAs in neurophysiology and neurodevelopmental disorders. |
| Basic Qualifications | Applicants must have recently obtained a Ph.D. in a relevant field and demonstrated research productivity through peer-reviewed publications. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex scientific concepts. A strong interest in neurobiology, gene regulation, and/or computational biology is required. |
