Role Detail: We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join a small, fast-moving, and fully remote team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, delivering, and enhancing software products, referencing the Minimum Viable Product and incorporating emerging customer use cases to launch the initial production system in 2024. The successful candidate should deeply value open-source software, be widely recognized for their expertise and ability to deliver results within development teams, thrive in a highly collaborative remote environment, and approach complex challenges with a positive and creative mindset.

The Software Development Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including designing and developing software applications, systems, and services that meet all specifications and requirements; solving complex engineering problems; collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met; implementing quality assurance measures through testing and code reviews; optimizing software performance; integrating security best practices; staying updated with the latest technologies; working closely with various teams; and creating and maintaining detailed documentation. This cross-functional role requires a strong focus on delivering value quickly, breaking down complex problems, and continuously enhancing capabilities while maintaining high standards of software quality and reliability.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of working effectively within small open-source software development teams.
• Thrives in a disciplined, iterative, and fast-paced development environment.
• Skills in productizing and commercializing innovations in code.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and delivering software.
• Proficiency in full-stack web application development, including JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Well-versed in DevOps practices associated with OSS software managed through GitHub.
• Experienced in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Knowledgeable in containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and SaaS orchestration solutions.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) and reputation concepts and solutions.
• Comfortable coding SaaS products employing graph databases.
• Exposure to large-scale access control platforms like Google Zanzibar, Auth0, and OpenFGA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting designs and recommendations effectively.
