Software Engineer - Fullstack

💡
Did you know that the latin word for full-stack engineering is fabula? Ok, so that’s not actually true, but stories are at the very core of how we consider fullstack engineering here at Privy. A good API should tell a tale. Building great tooling means thinking about their uses end-to-end, how they begin, play out and end. The listener should be at the forefront of all code we write and every tool we craft. Come and shape the Web3 narrative with us.
We seek an outstanding fullstack software engineer focused on our API to lay the foundations for a private and sovereign Web. As a fullstack SWE at Privy, you'll help design and implement a responsive, intuitive user-facing API end-to-end to enable developers to build better products without putting their users at risk.

Engineering at Privy

Engineering at Privy is not just about writing world-class code. We create software that turns complex technical systems into delightful developer tools. We assemble tried-and-true primitives into intuitive, responsive APIs and beautiful interfaces. We believe in open-source work and transparency with our teammates and users. We encourage each other to think big, run experiments and follow our curiosity so we can build better tooling that lets developers shine and empowers their users.

As a fullstack Engineer at Privy, you will…

Design intuitive interfaces to break down complex systems and turn them into delightful developer tooling
Build and integrate systems end-to-end across client-side and server-side APIs to enable a seamless developer experience
Design and implement end-to-end product features driven by user needs
Advocate for usability and interface coherence across our teams and products
Enforce web development best practices across our entire product collaborating with other core stakeholders

You may be a fit for this role if you have...

Deep knowledge of Go, Typescript and associated languages
Experience building and maintaining a production system at scale
A deep understanding of the architecture of modern React applications and backends
Prior experience working closely with a designer to iterate on a product
An understanding of modern web development best practices
Experience writing delightful developer documentation

Bonus points if you have...

Written open-source developer tooling
Published about your work (code, presentations, papers, blog posts, etc.)
Can name your 3 favorite and most hated API design patterns online
A habit of judging developer tooling by its simplicity rather than its complexity

What it's like to work at Privy

Privy is a secure remote datastore for your user data. With three lines of code, Privy’s API lets developers take on user data securely. The data is encrypted so Privy can never see it and only developers and their users control access to who does.
We are hybrid-remote friendly with our HQ office in NYC. We value both the flexibility and effectiveness of remote work, as well as the small things you only get from being around your teammates.
If you're passionate about bridging Web 2 and Web 3 architectures, helping developers build without putting users at risk, and reclaiming data sovereignty for users on the Web, we'd love to talk with you.
