About the Internship
We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Intern to join our Legal & Compliance Team, with a focus on researching legal and regulatory frameworks, supporting innovative product development, and contributing to the company's understanding of emerging legal challenges in the blockchain space. This is an exciting opportunity for a law student passionate about the intersection of law, technology, and decentralized systems.
Project Scope
Conduct in-depth legal research on global blockchain and digital asset regulations, including securities law, data privacy, IP, and financial services.
Support legal analysis of new product features and products from a compliance and regulatory risk perspective.
Assist in drafting legal memoranda, internal guidance documents, and compliance checklists related to product development and launches.
Track and analyze legal and regulatory trends in Web3, NFTs, DAOs, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
Collaborate with product, engineering, and innovation teams to help align legal frameworks with technical roadmaps.
Support contract management initiatives for commercial contracts.
Pre-Requisites
Current law student (JD or LLM) with a strong academic record and interest in blockchain, fintech, or technology law.
Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.
Prior experience in a startup, law firm, regulatory agency, or legal clinic is a plus.
Bonus/Preferred
Coursework or research in securities law, intellectual property, or financial regulation.
Familiarity with or an interest in how blockchain technology operates.
Learning Outcomes
Hands-on experience navigating novel legal questions in one of the fastest-evolving tech sectors.
Exposure to cross-functional collaboration between legal, product, and innovation teams.
Mentorship from experienced in-house counsel.
Logistics
Internship Length: August 4 - October 31st
Compensation: Paid internship (based on experience & program)
Remote-first: Collaboration in US EST time zones preferred
Networking & Mentorship: Direct exposure to senior leadership, blockchain legal challenges, intersection of law, technology, and decentralized systems.
