We are seeking a strongly motivated Cell Culture Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the operation of our Stem Cell Foundry, which produces high quality induced pluripotent stem cell lines. This job will entail ensuring operational excellence of stem cell culture including but not limited to clonal selection and expansion, cell bank generation, and differentiation. Science relies heavily on automation, so this job will entail using that automation to leverage laboratory automation to do more than you thought possible. This job is perfect for experienced cell culturists with strong attention to detail and organizational skills looking to make an impact at an early stage of our company’s development.
This position is part time on weekends and other non-standard hours!
Role & responsibilities:
- Perform media changes and passages
- Operate lab automation systems
- Manage reagents and inventory
- Keep workspace clean and organized
- Follow standard operating procedures and clearly communicate with the team
- Maintain accurate and organized records of procedures and results
Key qualifications:
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile technique
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
Salary/Pay Range:
For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands. The base salary range for this full-time position is $30-$40 per hour + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
