Web3/Oracle Engineer
Zama
Job Description
This position is in Zama’s Developer Platform team
Zama recently unveiled the Zama Confidential Blockchain Protocol, which enables confidential smart contracts on top of any blockchain L1 or L2, using Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). The Zama Developer Platform (ZDP) is our managed gateway that lets internal teams and external developers use the open-source Zama Protocol through simple, authenticated HTTPS endpoints. Think Infura or Alchemy, but confidential by default.
We are looking for a Web3/Oracle Engineer to own and expand this critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our oracle, from writing secure, multi-chain smart contracts to building the robust backend services that power them. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our protocol, with a direct influence on our expansion to new EVM chains and our work on cross-chain standards with partners like LayerZero.
What you will do
Design and deploy on-chain oracle contracts: Write, test, and deploy highly secure and gas-efficient Solidity contracts with robust upgradeability paths (e.g., proxy/UUPS) across multiple EVM networks.
Build and maintain off-chain services: Develop event-driven relayer/oracle services (Rust or TypeScript) that handle retries/backoff, idempotency, out-of-order delivery, and reorgs; instrument with meaningful telemetry.
Lead cross-chain integration: Drive the technical implementation of confidential token standards and messaging with interoperability protocols (e.g., LayerZero/OFT-style flows) and maintain production-adjacent reference implementations that partners can adapt.
Chain onboarding playbook: Maintain a repeatable checklist per chain (finality, gas limits, precompiles/syscalls, block time, log quirks) so new L1/L2 bring-up is measured in weeks, not months.
E2E collaboration: Partner with QA/Automation to exercise oracle flows in CI against devnet/testnet; add canaries and regression suites to minimise flake.
Own oracle security and reliability: Participate in security audits, design robust monitoring and alerting for all system components, and ensure the high uptime and performance of the entire oracle stack.
